Last night, I accidentally found myself on Randy Constan's Peter Pan site - hello, eleven million views - a place I hadn't been since college, when it was occasionally brought up at parties as this crazy thing you just have to see to believe. Randy made this site ages ago and still maintains it, as a tribute to his handmade Peter Pan-inspired fashions, and for a while, as a way to find his Tinkerbell. I think Randy Constan is the most sincere person on the internet. I don't doubt for a second that everything he posts is done in total honesty. He's promoting himself, his jazz music, his delicate costumes, and his ministry, with as much clarity of purpose and joy as he can. It's wonderful. Randy, you're wonderful.
(The reason I fell back on this site last night was a few people posted to Twitter, "I'm like Tinkerbell - I need applause to live" and I googled it to find out what this was from. It was from Glee. Oh. But the way I searched, Randy's site came up in the top five. And I thought:
Randy. What have you been up to?)
Well, Randy has been busy. He met his Tinkerbell, and they got married April a year ago. They pinky swore their devotion in front of an officiant dressed up as Henry VIII. They wed at a Renaissance Festival. She dressed as Tinkerbell, and he as Peter Pan, and when I saw this, I fell into the most full-bodied good mood.
I wish you nothing but joy, Randy. Congratulations.
